Tranmere Wembley 2000 team
One of Tranmere's finest hours came in February 2000 when the club reached their first ever major Cup Final. The Worthington Cup Final was the last ever League Cup Final to take place at the old Wembley Stadium and saw Tranmere play Leicester City from the Premiership.
Monday 30th March, 2009 will see these legends come together to play again for the first time since.

John AldridgeJohn Aldridge joined Tranmere from Real Sociedad and went in to become the clubs second highest goal scorer ever during his playing days. He later became manager and was responsible for bringing John to Tranmere back in 1998. He managed Rovers to the 2000 Cup Final and three FA Cup Quarter Finals before leaving in March 2001. |

David KellyKelly will always be remembered for scoring the goal that drew Tranmere level in the Final against Leicester City, drilling home Gary Jones' knock-down left footed under Tim Flowers. Kelly was a popular figure with fans and returned to the club for a brief stint as player-manager alongside Ray Mathias. |

Clint HillClint was a cult hero with Tranmere fans although was unfortunate to be on the end of a sending off in the Cup Final. His committed displays were a trademark and Clint made more than 150 appearances for Rovers. Clint is now playing in the Championship with Crystal Palace having had spells with Oldham Athletic and Stoke City since leaving. |

Dave ChallinorChallinor became a household name during Tranmere's cup runs and especially the run to the Worthington Cup Final. A local lad, Dave's throw-ins caught the limelight but sometimes overshadowed his qualities as a centre back. Dave is now back playing in Birkenhead with Cammell Laird after a long Football League career. |

Andy ParkinsonParkinson was a real favourite with the Prenton Park faithful having come through the youth team ranks at the club. A real star of the cup runs, like Challinor, "Parky" shot to fame during the run to the Cup Final thanks to some fine performances and a sensational Quarter Final goal against Middlesborough.

Nick HenryCombative midfielder Nick Henry was another one of the faces of the cup runs at the turn of the century thanks to some great performances and stunning goals. A real grafter in midfield, Henry was one of the players who took the pressure off and made it possible for the likes of Andy Parkinson and Alan Mahon to demonstrate some of their pace and flare. |
